Originally from upstate New York, Dr. Budgeon fulfilled a long-standing goal of a second career in veterinary medicine when he graduated from Ross University with highest honors in 2012. He completed a rotating internship at Cornell University, then a surgical internship at Mission Vet in San Antonio. Dr. Budgeon then completed a three-year residency in small animal surgery at the University of Wisconsin. His special interests include minimally invasive surgeries (MIS) such as laparoscopy, thoracoscopy, and arthroscopy. He is also interested in fracture repair and complex soft-tissue abdominal and thoracic cases.

When not at work he enjoys spending as much time outside as possible with his family. He also has an interest in historical woodworking techniques and collecting antique tools.
